About the region
The region is one of the most varied — in land relief, grape varieties, and wine-making styles.
It includes the areas along the Danube River, in the south of the Dealurile Munteniei and Olteniei wine region.
There are two DOC classification areas: Oltina and Însurăței. Beyond these, many independent vineyards produce quality wines in their own style.
Representative for this region are the heat and the sandy soil — conditions that help produce high-quality wines.
