The region is located in the south-east part of Romania being surrounded mainly by waters: the Danube river in the west and north and its Danube Delta, the Black Sea in the east.
It is the region where we meet the oldest land in Romania – the antic Macin Mountains, but also the newest – the Danube Delta which is continuously growing and transforming.
Here we find three DOC classification areas: Babadag, Sarica Niculiţel and Murfatlar.
The wine is a tradition here, being produced here from the ancient times by Greeks in the old Greeks Black Sea harbors and Romans in the region’s fortifications.
The region has a constant climate during the year – comparing to the other regions of Romania – and being influenced by the Black Sea, drying the soil, makes it proper for high quality wines.
