The Dobrogea Hills
A limestone plateau between the Danube and the Black Sea — ancient land, ancient wine. Greeks and Romans poured here before us.
The land
The region is located in the south-east of Romania, surrounded mainly by waters: the Danube River in the west and north, with its Delta, and the Black Sea in the east.
It is the region where we meet the oldest land in Romania — the ancient Măcin Mountains — but also the newest: the Danube Delta, which is continuously growing and transforming.
Here we find three DOC classification areas: Babadag, Sarica Niculiţel and Murfatlar.
Wine is a tradition here, produced since ancient times by Greeks in the old Black Sea harbours and by Romans in the region's fortifications.
The region has a constant climate during the year — compared to the other regions of Romania — and being influenced by the Black Sea, drying the soil, makes it ideal for high-quality wines.

Meet the makers
Nature in the Danube Delta has a magical quality of its own. It is a region where the bond between man, the vineyard and the countryside has achieved a balance unique in the world. This is why we have invested here and why we want to contribute to producing great wines.

Established in 1991 in the oldest vineyard of Dobruja, near the hills of Sarica and Niculițel, where grapevine cultivation has been a common practice for millennia. The estate sits between the Sarica–Niculițel hills and the cool influence of the Danube.

We embarked on our journey in 2011, when we planted our vineyards stretching over 154 hectares in Dobrogea, the land between the Danube and the Black Sea, in the renowned Murfatlar D.O.C. wine region near the village of Peștera — an area with a tradition of grape cultivation since antiquity.
