Stonewine Fetească Neagră

25,40

Stonewine Fetească Neagră has an intense ruby color and aromas of sour cherry, blackcurrant and blueberry, smoke and tobacco.

As for its taste, soft and round tannins with nice medium acidity, it presents aromas of spices and dark chocolate. This red wine is made by natural fermentation, and was matured in barrique for 2 years, 20% in new oak and 80% in used barrique.

The wine-making style follows the old world technique and the vines for Stonewine range come from the highest vineyards, from the highest rockiest hills where the fertile soil layer measure less than 30 centimeters.

It is one of the most interesting wines from Fetească Neagră, one of our favorites.

In the approx. 120 ha vineyard 80% red grape and 20% white grape is grown, bearing a 8.000 hl storing capacity. Our philosophy is to emphasize the traditional grape varieties of Carpathian Basin. Our well-known white wine are Fetească Regală, meaning Royal Princess, Mustoasă de Măderat, native in Miniș vineyard and Furmint planted first in 2008. Among red wines Kadarka, Blaufrankish, and Fetească Neagră originally coming from inner-Transylvania planted first in 2007 are worthily popular. Our winery is truly proud of the historically legendary red aszú vine, called Kadarisszima, which can be made in only the best vintages. White grape varieties such as Riesling, Sauvignon Blanc, and red ones like Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot are also grown and can be found often in cuvées.
