Solo Quinta, the emblematic blend of white varieties of Recaș Wineries, has reached its 16th edition! The grapes are selected from plots with clay-limestone soils and picked by hand.
The wine is made by fermentation and aging in French barrique, 100% new, Dargaud & Jaegle, Medium Toast, for 3-4 months only for Chardonnay. The proportion of grapes in the blend varies depending on the year: for 2023 Chardonnay remains the main component, and Traminer, a “pink” variety with a reddish skin, appears for the first time in this blend.
The wine is straw yellow, brilliant and clear. The nose is concentrated and elegant: in the first phase, exotic fruits dominate – litchis, pineapple, passion fruit – complemented by notes of summer fruits: apricots and peaches. After aeration, we can detect complex secondary aromas of oak, toasted almonds, vanilla and caramel. On the palate, the wine presents a strong and harmonious body. The DNA of Solo Quinta is complemented by the Traminer Roz variety, which is distinguished by fine notes of summer flowers. A white wine with a persuasive character that resists and evolves over time.
